Artist Statement

 

Painting is a means for me to raise critical questions and to engage in meaningful conversation about current events. Using mixed media, bold color, form, symbols and cultural references, I explore the human condition and address the diverse and complex realities surrounding social and political injustices. This leads to work that is personal, pragmatic and often sarcastic. These unprecedented times are a source of great inspiration and I feel particularly engaged as a woman to comment and contribute to the movements that change our world for the better. Painting is my form of activism and it is my sincere wish that you join me during this Very Obvious Time to Engage.
